Breaking: Jawar Mohammed And Bekele Gerba Are Sick And On Hunger Strike As A Result

Addis Ababa (JO) – Jawar Mohammed has notified his doctors to visit him yesterday shortly after he fell ill. Two of Jawar’s doctors arrived at Kaliti prison where he is currently detained, but were not able to see him. This is after both doctors waited two and a half hour and were denied access to see him.

It has been four days since Bekele Gerba’s feet has been swollen. Gerba has yet to receive access to medical treatment and as a result, the political prisoners at Kaliti have refused to see family members and are on hunger strike.

The lack of access to urgent medical care has their health deteriorating quickly.
